Training for assistance dogs
Training for assistance dogs should start early.
Companion Dog Training | The sooner, the better. I try to start working with puppies as soon as they’ve had their first vaccinations, i.e. at around 8 weeks of age. When starting to train dogs, it’s important to remember that, in the early stages, food is an engaging incentive that every dog will accept. In subsequent stages, we introduce play in the form of chew toys and balls. Of course, it all depends on the breed of dog and the age at which we decide to start training.
Training German Shepherds
When it comes to training German Shepherds, the ideal age is between 8 and 12 weeks. If the puppy has a good temperament, the results are visible right from the very first training session. Commands such as ‘sit’ or ‘down’, when taught correctly, are memorised by puppies very quickly. Training German Shepherds at such a young age is a lot of fun for both the owner and the dog itself.
Remember that the sooner you start training your dog, the sooner the dog will learn, and this is the key to raising a well-behaved and properly trained dog.
How to start training dogs?
Dog training in Warsaw | Before you make a decision, it’s worth asking yourself whether you have time for training and what form of training you’d like to do. There are pros and cons to both one-to-one and group training. Before starting training, try to speak to the trainer or instructor and work out which format will be best for you and your dog.
